What is WPM (Words Per Minute)?
WPM stands for Words Per Minute — the standard measurement of typing speed worldwide. One "word" is defined as 5 characters (including spaces). For example, typing 200 characters in one minute equals 40 WPM. Our test calculates both Gross WPM (total characters typed / 5 / minutes) and Net WPM (Gross WPM minus errors), giving you an accurate picture of your real typing speed.
